My 2020 Black-Owned Business Round Up

Earlier this month I saw a post from a fellow member of NULYP and I thought it was pretty dope. She posted all of the Black-owned businesses she supported in 2020 and I was inspired. I knew that I had kept track during my Black Friday Weekend shopping, but I decided to challenge myself and see if I could put it all together. I’m still almost certain some are missing but this is a fairly accurate representation. Don’t judge me! Mind the business that pays you. *wink wink*

So folx, that means our grand total of Black-owned businesses supported equals…

67 Black-owned businesses supported!

However, please note that this does not include the books I’ve read nor does it include the non-profit organizations I donated to! I am still incredibly pleased with this number and will continue to find Black-owned alternatives to products I use. Buying Black is not simply a square on your social media or a cute gif, but it’s a lifestyle. Let’s be intentional with our shopping in 2021 and beyond!
